The Premise of the Naked Philosopher

The premise of this yet to be finished book is to search all human philosophy for our roots, the basis of human thinking. An ambitious task certainly, the sub goal of which is to assemble an overview of our collected reasoning, belief systems, schools of thought and  religions available to every person who cares to investigate our philosophical roots.

Philosophers….. great thinkers—Socrates, Aristotle, Xenophanes of Colophon, Philo of Alexandria, St. Anselmus, Thomas More, Francis Bacon, René Descartes, Jean-Jaques Rousseau, George Hegel, Thomas Paine, Ernst Mach, Carl Jung,Simone de Beauvoir, Bertrand Russell, Michel Foucault, Karl Popper…giants in the schools of philosophical thought. I don’t pretend to make a claim to be anywhere close in their league. I am however, a seeker, a believer in both a universal ether and man ascending. Human history is drenched in blood, the blood of believers shed by others who believe just as strongly that their position is the only viable option for man’s ultimate ascendance—whether that journey owes its quest to the belief in God or Man. Please journey with me, as a fellow “seeker” hoping to find a path through the madness and moral certainty that has led so many to their ultimate demise, a profound and tragic ending found long before any answers to the questions we all ask at many junctures in our lives. My planned co-author, Elizabeth Albert, a fellow seeker who passed from this earthly realm much too early…leaves me to continue on a solitary path of seeking a truth which allows man to believe in a future which is inclusionary. In 2010,, we found one man of God burning the Quran to make a statement about the tragedy surrounding September 11th, and the terrorist attacks on America. In 2011, the world still languishes in the throes of stunted belief systems and half-formed thoughts, leading us to the question—“where is progress?”

The human mind must seek truth even if it is never found, and the journey will be long. Please read my thoughts here and know that I will always search on with each of you wishing only to find a philosophy that brings each of us a tool to travel with.

Truth is what we all seek, let us learn also to see one another’s truth—to interact on a different level, one borne of shared humanity and spirit–equal force and equal value surrendered to each. Let us begin………………..
